il ladro sono io (1940)

a girl with a beautiful voice would like to become an opera singer. he manages to make his debut even if in a very contrasting manner; she is also robbed of a false necklace that she instead declares of enormous value, in order to make herself publicity. days later, the thief from the series shows up, declares that it is false and that due to this gross thievery he was expelled from his gang and asks her to be compensated by being hired as his secretary. once things are done, the secretary has the singer study a large number of scores in view of theatrical writings, which then always fade mysteriously. eventually the truth comes to the surface: the false thief is nothing but a wealthy lawyer, in love with the girl, who with such deceptions has tried to make her desist from embracing her artistic career.
